Continuing from the previous edition, this round of cosmetic procedures for men will focus on more invasive procedures that require a skilled plastic surgeon. The following are brief synopses for five of the most popular procedures being done to men today.
Baldness is something that affects millions of men and can have devastating affects on their confidence. Hair transplantation can range in price from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on how extensive the treatment is. The main reason why its becoming increasingly popular and available is that it is the most effective treatment available. It literally involved taking viable and working hair follicles and placing them, either in groups or strips, into areas where the follicles have ceased to function. The transplanted follicles continue to grow as normal with no adverse affects.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
The best way to describe laser skin resurfacing is to think of sculpting with clay. A highly skilled and trained doctor removes layers of skin with a laser, like a sculptor shaves away fine layers of clay to perfect their masterpiece. There is about a day or two of down time to recover from it, mainly depending on the extend of treatment. The results can literally be like shaving away scars, imperfections and years away from your face.
Most commonly associated with woman’s cosmetic surgery, liposuction is available through a variety of methods. Traditionally, metal tubes are inserting under the skin and solutions are injected in then pulled out along with excess fatty deposits. In other methods, the treatments are delivered purely externally using such things as extreme cold and ultrasonic waves.
If you’ve been heavy, lost weight, had more definition and lost muscle tone, or if you’ve suffered from a hormone imbalance, you may have what appear to be the male version of breasts. Gynecomastia is a type of operation that can remove the excess tissue and reshape the chest and pectoral area into the proper masculine form.
Eyelid Surgery – Blepharoplasty
As people age the skin can become loose and sag, especially around the eyes. Blepharoplasty is a fairly broad term for procedures that involve restructuring the eyelids. The procedure can be done to help improve eye sight and give a more youthful appearance. Men who worked outside a lot during their youth, may find this type of procedure helpful in reducing the damage that squinting, and sun exposure, may have had with the skin around their eyes.
