miraDry is the latest treatment in the war on underarm sweat and odour. What makes miraDry stand apart is that it’s currently the only permanent solution on the market that promises up to 80% reduction in underarm sweat – forever.
Sounds too good to be true? If miraDry seems like the answer to your woes, but you’re not sure if you want to go for it, here are FIVE questions you can ask yourself to help make up your mind.
How much do I sweat?
Everybody perspires. It is the body’s natural cooling mechanism. When the body heats up, the pores release water to cool it down. Perspiring while you commute on a hot day, sit in a warm or crowded area, in a steam room or when you work out or play is absolutely normal. However some people perspire a lot more than others. If you find yourself mopping your forehead when others seem comfortable; or soaking through more than one shirt in a day you may be sweating more than could be considered comfortably manageable and you might just need miraDry
Do sweat patches bother me?
Some people have a sweat-prone job or lifestyle. For instance, a door-to-door saleman; or a football coach can’t really help the sweat patches on their shirt. But, if you’re making a presentation in an air-conditioned room; or addressing an audience in a posh auditorium – sweat patches make a glaring sore sight and can severely mar the impression you make for yourself. If sweat patches are coming in the way of how you’re perceived at your workplace, then you may want to consider miraDry.
Have I tried everything else on the market?
There’s a whole genre of products catering to tacking underarm sweat. Powders, Deodorants, anti-Perspirants, Creams, Lotions and what not. There are also a myriad home remedies that are advertised to help control or stop odour altogether. They work for some, but for others, no solution seems to be effective enough. If you’re tired of showering multiple times a day or reapplying your deodorant every 2 hours, miraDry could be the solution you’re looking for.
Has sweat ruined special moments (and clothes)?
Have you ever made a bad presentation because you were conscious of your soaking shirt? Have colleagues or friends gossiped about your ‘misfortune’ behind your back? Have you had to cancel a date because you were too embarrassed to show up sweaty? Have a had to carry a change of clothes to a party because you were certain your clothes would be ruined by the time you arrived? Have you had to throw out clothes because you couldn’t get out the sweat stains? If any of these questions is a YES, you may need miraDry in your life.
Do you shy away from wearing your favourite outfits because of sweat?
If you’ve given up wearing your favourite black dress because you don’t want white anti-perspirant marks all over it or you no longer wear silk blouses to work because you don’t want the sweat ruining the fabric, then maybe you should give miraDry a chance
If you answered four out of five with a yes, then miraDry is certainly something you need and will benefit from. Call us to book an appointment or read up more about how miraDry can change your life on our website!
- What is miradry?
Miradry is a newer, FDAapproved noninvasive procedure that uses microwave technology to target and eliminate sweat and odor glands from the armpits (50 – 60% in one treatment) and also results in permanent hair growth reduction up to 20-30%.
- How does it work?
The treatment uses a handheld device to deliver electromagnetic energy below the skin, targeting sweat glands. The device heats and destroys the underarm sweat glands while cooling and protecting the top layers of skin.
- Does the treatment have any downtime?
The procedure is relatively painless, but it does require local anesthesia in the form of lidocaine injections. Most people can continue normal activities, return to work right after the procedure and resume exercise within a couple of days.
- How much does the procedure cost?
Miradry costs around 1,00,000 plus tax per session. Most people require at least two treatments to see 80% reduction in sweat and odour.
- Are there any side effects?
Common side effects of miradry include underarm swelling, redness and soreness, numbness and tingling sensation in the upper arms for a couple of days.
