Breast lift surgery is also referred to as Mastopexy procedure. It is a procedure where the surgeons move the nipple higher on the chest wall. Along with repositioning, they stiffen the surrounding tissue and remove the extra skin. If you are feeling your breasts are flat, droopy, or noticing the areola getting large or the total appearance does not look attractive, you can opt for this procedure. The breast lift helps in boosting one’s self-confidence and self-image. Also, remember breast life would not completely change the size of breasts. Your surgeon may recommend a breast lift along with breast reduction or breast augmentation.

According to the extent and nature of breast sagging, the physician would select the best breast lift technique. There are several kinds of breast lift techniques like:

Anchor breast lift:  In this method, the surgeon would make an incision around the areola, down to the crease beneath your breast, and then horizontally along the natural crease. This anchor-shaped incision provides maximum access to the breast tissue and skin. This is mostly suitable for large breasts with significant drooping.

Crescent breast lift: If the sagging is minimal, this method can be used. In this method, a half-moon or crescent-shaped incision is made at the top half of the areola. Once the areola is positioned and the extra skin is removed, sutures will be performed. No scar will be seen in this procedure as the scar remains hidden due to the areola's dark shade.

Donut breast lift or Periareolar Breast Lift: If your concern is only around the areola, this method can be used. It is recommended for individuals with moderate or mild levels of breast sagging. In this method, the surgeon makes a small incision around the edge of the areola and removes the extra skin. No scar is seen on the breast as the incision is hidden within the areola.

Lollipop breast lift or vertical breast lift: This method is recommended for individuals with severe breast sagging. In this method, an incision is made around the areola and then down to the crease beneath your breast in the shape of a lollipop. This provides the surgeon access to loosen internal breast tissue and reposition the nipple.

Vampire breast lift: If you are worried about the scar, this method can be used as it involves minimum incisions. In this method, your blood is used to help heal. The blood is drawn from your arm and then spun in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets. Platelets are rich in growth factors, which helps in healing and regenerating tissue. These growth factors are then injected into the breast tissue. It is recommended for individuals who want to avoid scars.
