Intra Lesional Steroid Injections - Ears Treatment

An intralesional steroid injection is a corticosteroid like triamcinolone acetonide that is injected immediately beneath the skin or directly into the lesion. The objective of an intradermal injection is to deliver a high dosage of medication into the afflicted region to improve treatment effectiveness while reducing drug side effects throughout the body.

What is mesotherapy? Mesotherapy is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that combines the use of injections and natural substances like vitamins and minerals to improve skin conditions and boost collagen production. Sometimes medications like antibiotics and vasodilators, hormones like thyroxin and calcitonin, herbal extracts, and enzymes such as hyaluronidase and collagenase are used by the physician. There is no specific standard formula followed in mesotherapy.

Intra lesional or Meso injections are usually administered by a doctor, nurse, physician's assistant, or dermatologist. The patient lies face down on an exam table and the injection site is sterilized to prevent infection. Once the skin is prepared, you will feel pressure as the needle penetrates your dermis (the second layer of skin). You may experience mild stinging or pain during the injection but medication should be administered in small amounts so this should only last a few seconds.
